Pengaruh Pemberian Abu Boiler Kelapa Sawit Terhadap Pertumbuhan Semai Mahoni (Swietenia Mahagoni) Pada Media Gambut
ABSTRACT
Swietenia mahagoni can grow on marginal land and can be used as a revegetation plant. Peat is classified as marginal soil because it contains high organic acids and low macronutrient content. One of the efforts that can be made to increase the productivity of peat is by administering ameliorant, one of which is the use of oil palm boiler ash. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of a mixture of peat and oil palm boiler ash and the optimal composition of peat and oil palm boiler ash media on the growth of mahogany seedlings. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) method consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replications to obtain 20 experimental units. The composition of the planting medium tested was P0 = 100% peat soil (control), P1 = 10% boiler ash + 90% peat soil, P2 = 15% boiler ash + 85% peat soil, P3 = 20% oil palm boiler ash + 80 % peat soil and P4 = 25% oil palm boiler ash + 75% peat soil. The data obtained were analyzed using SPSS 26.0. The application of oil palm boiler ash had a significant effect on the growth of mahogany seedlings. The composition of 15% boiler ash + 85% peat is the optimal composition with a survival rate of 100%, the average increase in seedling height is 10.01 cm, the increase in diameter is 1.75 mm, the firmness of the seedlings is 7.49, the dry weight is 6.61 g and the ratio root header 6.19.
