Identifikasi Keanekaragaman Jenis Tumbuhan Bawah Di Kampus Universitas Riau

ABSTRACT
Riau University is a state university in Pekanbaru City. The Riau University area can also be called a green campus because of the total area of 365 ha, there are shady plants and trees randomly in the area. Undergrowth is a plant community that forms the subsoil close to the soil surface. Undergrowth is one of the major components in the forest ecosystem that role in the genome should be noted.This study aims to identify the undergrowth species on the campus of the University of Riau and to determine the diversity of undergrowth species on the campus of the University of Riau. Data collection methods using targeted sampling. The number of plots observed for arboretum, eucalyptus stands and oil palm areas was 30, 10, 20 and 15, respectively, with a plot size of 2 x 2 (m). each results obtained in the arboretum found 17 families consisting of 31 species of undergrowth.In the bushes found 13 families consisting of 21 species of undergrowth. In eucalyptus stands 9 families were found consisting of 11 undergrowth species. In oil palm plantations found 13 families consisting of 24 species of undergrowth. The Diversity Index and Evenness Index in the arboretum is 2.69 and 0.78 respectively. diversity index and evenness index in the bush of 2.53 and 0.83. diversity index and evenness index in eucalyptus stands of 1.72 and 0.72. The index of diversity and evenness in oil palm plantations is 2 and 0.63.
