Pengembangan Dan Unjuk Kerja Alat Uji Fatigue Rotary Bending
The rotary bending fatigue test equipment has been designed and
manufactured as a fatigue testing tool for metal materials, especially steel. This
fatigue testing tool is made using several steel materials for the frame and supporting
components, changing the control system from analog to a control system using
Arduino uno to calculate time, rotation and the control system automatically stops
when the test object breaks. The working system of this tool rotates or rotates, the
rotation is generated from a motor with a power of 1 HP with a rotational speed of
1450 rpm with this motor being able to rotate the shaft through the pulleys and belting
as a rotation transfer with a pulley ratio of 3:5 inches, then the resulting rotational
speed on the shaft becomes 870 rpm. This fatigue testing tool is validated with JIS
S45C steel by carrying out tests referring to ASTM E466, with loadings of 50%, 70%,
90%, 110% and 130% of the yield value of JIS S45C material until the specimens
experience fatigue failure which is then validated using manual calculations. The
results obtained by the Arduino Uno device used for the control system of this tool
can be used properly. The fatigue test results show that JIS S45C steel has a high
fatigue life with a high cycle fatigue of 22,144,683 cycles, that is, at a load of 90% of
the yield stress or at a working stress of 458.69 MPa. The test results were
approximated by manual calculations using the Goodman, Soderberg, Gerber Morrow
and Marin equations. After being validated by manual calculations, it turns out that
the experimental results can be approximated by the Goodman equation.
