Perancangan Alat Uji Keausan (Tribometer) Untuk Cylindrical Roller Thrust Bearing Menggunakan Metode Pahl And Beitz
ABSTRACT
The design of this test equipment aims to determine the best design and bill of material of the tribometer for cylindrical roller thrust bearings, namely bearings that are suitable for large axial loads compared to radial loads. The working principle of this tribometer is that the cylindrical roller thrust bearing components will rotate and then be given an axial load so that they experience friction, with the friction on the bearings the wear and tear will be known. The Pahl and Beitz design method was applied to this study in order to obtain the best design results, where there are four working steps of this method, namely detailed design, embodiment design, product concept design, and planning and task explanation. The wear and tear that occurs in a material is caused by the presence of several different mechanisms and is formed by several parameters that vary including material, environment, operating conditions, and surface geometry of the object that wear occurs. The benefits of this tribometer are to determine the performance of the bearings and can also determine the effect of using lubricants on bearings. And with this tribometer it will be a reference in the selection of bearings.
