Perancangan Alat Uji Roda Gigi Menggunakan Metode Vdi 2221
ABSTRACT
Gears are machine elements that function to transmit power from one component to another. The amount of power transmitted can cause failure of the gear, so a study and equipment are needed to check the performance of a gear. In this study, the authors designed a gear test device using the VDI 2221 method for three design concepts and analyzed the structure of the test equipment using manual calculations and simulation programs using static and dynamic methods. The results obtained from this study are: (i) The concept of the gear test device is fulfilled by the second design with a value of 41. (ii) The maximum von mises stress occurs in the frame, namely rod 8 with a value of 19.47 MPa from the manual results while the simulation 19.06 MPa was obtained on rod 8 while the minimum safety factor for rod 8 was 17.5 from the manual while the simulation was 15 for rod 8, the maximum deflection on rod 8 was 0.162 mm from the manual while the simulation was 0.1695 mm for rod 8. (iii) The dynamic simulation that has been carried out produces a friction coefficient value of 0.342.
