Pengembangan Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Air Pikohidro Pada Saluran Irigasi Menaming Dengan MISG (Motor Induksi Sebagai Generator)
With the fulfillment of electricity needs, the standard of living of the
community will increase, uneven population distribution and difficult access are
one of the causes of an area not being electrified by PLN. One solution that can be
used so that electricity needs are met is to utilize water energy in irrigation canals
as an energy source. The obstacles faced in this process are the low flow speed
and height difference in irrigation canals.
This study aims to utilize irrigation canals that have low flow speeds and
height differences. At flow speed 0.3 meters per second and height difference 0.3
meters, it is expected to be used for street lighting and residents' homes.
First of all, a survey and observation of water conditions in irrigation
canals is carried out which aims to determine the flow discharge and the factors
that cause changes in flow discharge so that the planned discharge for the design
of the waterwheel can be determined. After the planned discharge is obtained,
planning and manufacturing of the mill, planning and manufacturing of the
transmission system, planning and manufacturing of the 12-pole generator and
comparing the voltage of the generator with the generator made locally 2-poles.
Based on research conducted, it can be concluded that with a wheel and
rotation without load, the more poles a generator has, the generator output voltage
is more stable even though the same is not at the working rotation of the
generator. The electricity generated by the generator can be used for street lighting
and lighting people's homes.
