Kandungan Mikroplastik Pada Ikan Juaro (Pangasius Polyuranodon) Di Sungai Siak Provinsi Riau
Abstract
There are many activities conducted in the Siak River that produce plastic waste. This waste may be degraded into microplastics that can be swallowed accidentally by fish, including the omnivorous fish Pangasius polyuranodon. To understand the presence of microplastics in the stomach and intestines of the fish, a study was conducted in December 2022-January 2023. A total of 90 fish were used. The fish was dissected and the stomach and intestines were taken. Stomach contents and intestinal contents were separated and added with 10% KOH solution and incubated for 14 days to destroy organic matters. The microplastics were then identified using a binocular microscope and noted. Results shown that there were 3 types of microplastics present namely, fiber, film and fragment. The abundance of microplastic is 4.33-6.03 particles/fish in the stomach and 3.9 to 6.26 particles/fish in the intestine.
