Pengembangan LKPD Berbasis Socio-Scientific Issues Untuk Meningkatkan Minat Belajar Dan Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Peserta Didik Pada Materi Larutan Penyangga
Critical thinking skills are skills in analyzing and evaluating existing information to determine reliable information so that it can be used to draw valid conclusions. The low ability to think critically is caused by students tendency to memorize material and formulas rather than understand concepts. The concepts in the buffer solution material absolutely must be understood by students as a whole because they will continue to be implemented in subsequent chemical concepts as well as in everyday life. The development of LKPD teaching materials is needed to facilitate the achievement of the expected learning objectives. One of the advantages of developing LKPD is that it can be designed according to the circumstances of the students and the characteristics of the school. LKPD, which is integrated with socio-scientific issues, can increase students' interest and stimulate their critical thinking.
This study aims to produce LKPD based on socio-scientific issues on valid and reliable buffer solution material and to find out the increase in learning interest and students' critical thinking skills on buffer solution material.
This study uses the Research and Development (R & D) method with the ADDIE model, which consists of five phases: the analysis phase, the design phase, the development phase, the implementation phase, and the evaluation phase. Data collection techniques used included interviews, student questionnaires, validation sheets, and user response questionnaires. Validation was assessed by 3 material experts. Small-scale trials were carried out using two methods: one-on-one tests and user responses. The one-on-one test involved three students with high, medium, and low abilities. User response assessment involved 3 teachers and 30 students at SMAN 4 Pekanbaru, SMAN 8 Pekanbaru, and SMAN 15 Pekanbaru. The research design on a large-scale trial was a pre-experimental pretest-posttest control group design. The sampling technique used purposive sampling and obtained one sample class, namely class XI IPA SMAN 4 Pekanbaru, which consisted of 36 students.
The results showed that the developed LKPD obtained an average percentage of material experts of 92% with very valid criteria; the one-on-one test obtained student comments for the LKPD components that must be corrected; and user responses, namely teachers and students, got percentages of 93.1% and 93.7% with very good criteria. In the large-scale test, data on learning interest were obtained before and after using LKPD, as were pretest-posttest data on students' critical thinking skills. A paired t-test on learning interest and critical thinking skills data gets a significance value of 0.000 (sig
