ABSTRACT
Information about medicinal plants used by the people of the Talang Mamak tribe has not been widely reported. This study aims to obtain information about the types of plants used as medicine by the Talang Mamak tribe. Data collection in the field has been carried out by interview method, and snowball sampling technique is used to determine the sample. The number of medicinal plants used by the Talang Mamak tribe consists of 46 families with 83 species of plants. The most widely used plant species from the Zingiberaceae family with eight types of plants, including Curcuma xanthorrhiza roxb, Curcuma domestica, Alpinia galanga, Zingiber zerumbet (l.) Smith, Kaempferia galangal, Zingiber officininale roxb, Alpinia javanica, and Etlingera elatior. The people of the Talang Mamak tribe use medicinal plants to treat abortinum, aphrodisiac, allergies, tonsils, cough, boils, smallpox, fever, rheumatism, diarrhea, hypertension, hepatitis, wounds, headaches, eye pain, stimulate appetite, stop, bleeding, toothache, earache, sore throat, energy booster, birth medicine, blood enhancer and lumbago.
