Perancangan Evaporator Tipe Fin And Tube Pada Organic Rankine Cycle (Orc) Kapasitas 560 Watt Berbahan Bakar Tandan Kosong Kelapa Sawit
The demand for energy around the world is increasing gradually as a result of population growth, advances in science and technology. The fossil energy that been used has led to increasing environmental problems such as air pollution, global warming, depletion of the ozone layer and acid rain caused by excessive consumption of fossil fuels. Utilization of renewable energy sources such as wind energy, biomass, and solar heat, geothermal and waste heat is a way to overcome electrical energy problems. Among the solutions, for now the Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) system is the most widely studied. In this study discusses the design of the type evaporator fin and tube as a heat exchanger for ORC systems fueled by empty palm oil fruit bunches. The design of the evaporator has been carried out using an outer diameter tube of 9,525 mm and the total tube length is 41,4 m, with 90 tubes and 135 fins with a total area of 14,325 m2. In this study, the efficiency of the ORC system was 3,20%, where the burning of empty palm oil bunches was able to supply the energy absorbed by the evaporator (qin) of 12,29 kJ/s with a net power generated (Wnet) of 393,85 W. After testing, the effectiveness of the designed evaporator is 88,88%
