Dengue Hemorragic Fever (DHF) is an infectious disease that may occur death. The main vector of DHF is an Aedes aegypti mosquito that has been infected with the dengue virus. This disease has received attention because it has high cases in Pekanbaru, particularly in Kecamatan Marpoyan Damai. Efforts considerably made to control Dengue by reducing vectors using insecticides. Problems that frequently arise in Dengue control programs are the high density of dengue fever vectors which is the Ae.aegypti and vector resistance due to the continuous use of insecticides. This study aims to determine the larval density (HI, CI, and BI) and resistance status of Ae.aegypti to malathion 5% in Kelurahan Tangkerang Barat, Kecamatan Marpoyan Damai. This research method was a descriptive observational with cross-sectional design, conducted from October 2022 to May 2023. Ae.aegypti larvae were collected from 100 houses and reared until they became adult mosquitoes. The mosquitoes used were the f-0 generation aged 3-5 days, totaling 150 mosquitoes reared. The sampling technique for larval density and Ae.aegypti mosquitoes used purposive sampling method, while taking house and larval samples used consecutive sampling method. Collection of Ae.aegypti larvae adopted simple random sampling with a species determination, implementing the single larva method. The observations and records were made on water reservoirs inside and outside the house and collected all larval found. The results obtained an HI value of 36%, CI 6.96%, BI 141% with a DF value scale of 8, which has a high risk. The results of the Ae.aegypti resistance test against 5% malathion stated that mosquitoes were still in the vulnerable category, which means that 5% malathion can still be used.
