THE EFFECT OF THE USE OF MASK ON CHANGES IN FACIAL MOISTURE OF HEALTH WORKERS IN HOSPITAL IN PEKANBARU

COVID-19 is a disease caused by SARS-CoV-2. Wearing a mask is one way to prevent this disease. Health workers are the most frequent group who use masks. The long-term use of masks will certainly have an impact on the physiology of the skin. There are several factors that can affect skin moisture such as weather, age, temperature and also increased TEWL levels. This research was conducted to determine the effect of using a mask on changes in skin moisture. This study used a cross-sectional research design with 25 respondents. The results of this study found that the highest number of respondents were aged 26–35, namely 12 people (48%). Based on this study, it was found that using a mask for 4 hours did not have a significant effect on changes in skin moisture.
