Kaji Eksperimental Pemanfaatan Panas Solar Pond Sebagai Pembangkit Listrik Berbasis Thermoelectric Generator (Teg)
ABSTRACT
Solar Pond is a type of solar collector with the ability to store heat energy for a long time and lower construction costs compared to other types of solar collectors. Solar pond functions as a collector and storage of solar thermal energy. Solar pond technology requires development so that it can be applied to power generation. One of them is by using a thermoelectric generator. Thermoelectric means a device that can change heat energy (temperature difference) into electrical energy. A thermoelectric generator (Thermoelectric Generator / TEG) is used to generate electricity. when a temperature difference occurs between two different semiconductor materials, this thermoelectric element will conduct current to form a voltage difference. This principle is known as the 'Seebeck effect'. This study aims to determine the potential for electrical energy sourced from four thermoelectric elements using the TEG SP 1848 type. The heat source is simulated using a water heater with temperatures of 40ºC, 50ºC and 60ºC, while the cooling side uses ice water with a temperature range of ±10ºC. The testing will show that the SP 1848 thermoelectric generator produces maximum power when using a heat input of 60 ºC, with a power of 0.4125 W, a voltage of 0.825 V and a current of 0.5 A, with an average temperature difference of 41.86 ºC.
