THE INFLUENCE OF COMMUNICATION COUNCILATION ON BEHAVIOR CHANGES THROUGH INCREASING KNOWLEDGE OF CLEAN AND HEALTHY LIFING BEHAVIOR (PHBS) AT SMA NEGERI 1 PEKANBARU

Clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS) in schools is a set of behaviors that are practiced by students, teachers, and the school community on the basis of awareness as learning outcomes, so that they are able to independently prevent disease, improve their health, and play an active role in creating a healthy environment. PHBS in schools is an effort to empower students, teachers, and the school community to know, want, and be able to practice PHBS, and play an active role in creating healthy schools. This study aims to determine the effect of counseling communication on behavior change through increasing knowledge of clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS) in the school environment of SMA Negeri 1 Pekanbaru.
This study uses quantitative research methods with descriptive data analysis techniques. The theory used in this research is the Diffusion of Innovation Theory. The population in this study amounted to 1,093. Determination of the sample in this study using the Proportional Stratified Sampling technique with the slovin formula and obtained a sample of 102 respondents. This study collects data by distributing questionnaires, and the G-form. The results of this study indicate that: (1) Extension communication has a significant effect on increasing knowledge, (2) Extension communication has no significant effect on behavior change, (3) indirectly Extension communication (X) through increasing knowledge (Z) has an influence significant effect on behavior change (Y), or communication. Counseling has an indirect effect through increased knowledge of changes in PHBS behavior. Based on the results of the path analysis test, the path coefficient for variable X is 0.000 0.05. So it can be concluded that Extension Communication (X) has an indirect influence on Behavior Change (Y). Analysis of the effect of Z on Y obtained a significance value of X of 0.000
