Status Pemanfaatan Ikan Katung (Pristolepis Grootii) Di Danau Panjang Desa Lubuk Siam
Abstract
Pristolepis grootii was one of economically important fishes species found in the
Panjang Lake. This fish was commonly captured and used as a food resource for
the Lubuk Siam community. A study aimed to determine the growth rate,
mortality and the utilization status of that fish in the lake was conducted on July -
September 2022. Fish samples were collected six times, all fish captured were
used in this study. Parameters measured were total length (TL), body weight
(BW), and gonad maturity level. Data collected were analyzed using FISAT II and
MS Excel software. Relationship between TL and BW was analyzed (Effendie
1997), growth rate was calculated using a von Bertalanfy formula, and mortality
rate was calculated based on (Pauly 1984). Results shown that the relationship
between TL and BW was positive allometric. The growth equation was Lt =
208.42 x (1-e (0.93 x (1– 0.56))), with an asymptotic length (infinity) of 208.42 mm and
a growth rate (K) of 0.93 years-1. The total annual mortality rate (Z) obtained in this
study was 1.2 years-1, natural mortality rate (M) was 1.02 years-1, and the fishing
mortality rate (F) was 0.18 years-1. The exploitation rate (E) of 0.15 years-1 indicates a
low level of exploitation (E
