Abstrack
Pangkalan Terap Village is one of the areas in Kampar Regency where many fishing activities are found with the dominant fishing gear used by local fishermen is gill nets. The purpose of this study is to determine the construction and environmental friendliness of gill net fishing gear in Pangkalan Terap village based on the Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries criteria (FAO, 1995) and Taeran 2014 sub criteria. This research was conducted on April 04-11, 2022. The method used was survey method and direct interview to 18 respondents to collect data on the environmental friendliness of gillnet fishing gear. The results of the research obtained gill nets operating in Pangkalan Terap Village mostly have a construction similar to gill nets generally consisting of buoy ropes, ballast ropes, buoys, buoys and ballasts. Gill net fishing gear in Pangkalan Terap Village is included in environmentally friendly fishing gear with a weighting value of 24.3 from a weighting scale of 17-24.
