Pengaruh Arus Pengelasan Smaw Terhadap Cacat Pengelasan Dan Kekuatan Tarik Baja Astm A36 Menggunakan Alat Sliding Adaptive Two Axis
ABSTRACT
In the SMAW welding process, there are various types of electrodes with various diameter sizes, besides that the process can use various current strengths. All of that is done to adjust the thickness of the plate and the type of steel. The purpose of this research is to influence the DC electric polarity on the variation of electrodes used. The welding process in this study uses ASTM A 36 low carbon steel material with specimen dimensions of 4 mm thick, 100 mm wide, and 200 mm long. The welding process is carried out in an underhand position (1G) using a V seam with a SMAW welding machine sliding adaptive two axis system with speed control. The type of electrode used is E6013 electrode, with a diameter of 3.2 mm. The current variation used is OK 46.00. The test methods carried out are Penetrant Test, Visual Test (Non Destructive Test) and Tensile Test (Destructive Test). The results of the study of the effect of variations in welding parameters with direct current (polarity current, DC) on the strength of welding joints.
