Penerapan Metode Design For Manufacture And Assembly (Dfma) Pada Mesin Gerinda Camshaft Racing
ABSTRACT
A camshaft grinding machine is a machine that can modify a standard camshaft to become a racing camshaft with the aim of adding or widening the camshaft, increasing volumetric efficiency and changing the character of a machine, so that the engine produces more power and as needed. The design of this camshaft grinding machine is designed to be able to work with a rotation that is adjusted to the needs when operating. One of the methods that can be used to process a design is the Design For Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) method, which is a method used to evaluate product designs by considering convenience in the manufacturing process and assembly process. where there are two methods namely Design For Assembly (DFA) and Design For Manufacture (DFM) methods there are 2 product designs namely the initial product design results obtained assembly time (s) in theory which is 398,88 seconds, actually which is 397.84 seconds with a total of 67 components and assembly improvement results (%) in theory, namely 50,39%, in actual terms, namely 50,52% for a manufacturing cost of Rp. 2.007.500, while the final product design results in assembly time (s) in theory, namely 331,32 seconds, in actual terms, namely 330,61 seconds with a total of 57 components and the result of repair efficiency (%) in theory is 51,61%, theoretically actual, namely 51,72% for manufacturing costs of Rp. 1.722.500.
