Sleep is a complex physiological that maintain caloric-metabolic balance and restore the body's natural equilibrium. It is pertinent to note that poor sleep quality can affect the process of body's cell renewal in the formation of hemoglobin. This can cause a decrease in the body's hemoglobin levels, which is then referred to as anemia. Anemia is a condition characterized by low levels of hemoglobin in the blood, Several common symptoms that frequently experienced include fatigue, weakness, dizziness, lethargic and headaches, which can lead to decreased learning concentration, as well as reduced physical ability. Therefore, this research aims to evaluate the overview of anemia and sleep quality toward students of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Riau, Class of 2020. It is a descriptive research carried out using comparative method. This research involves 57 respondents and the data used are obtained through the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire. The results show that the majority of respondents have poor sleep quality (93.0%), with an average age of 20 years old (73.7%), female (61.4%), and are not anemic (80.7%). According to this research, it can be concluded that respondents have poor sleep quality and are not anemic.
