Karakteristik Briket Arang Kulit Buah Salak Dan Arang Pelepah Salak Dengan Perekat Pati Sagu
ABSTRACT
Zalacca fruit skin and stem were biomass waste that can be used as an
alternative energy source in the form of charcoal briquettes caused it contained
lignin and cellulose. This experiment research aims to determine the best ratio
from the combination of zalacca fruit skin and stem charcoal briquettes with sago
starch adhesive based on SNI (Indonesian National Sandard) No. 01-6235- 2000.
The research was conducted experimentally using a Completely Randomized
Design (CRD) consisting of five treatments and four replications. The treatments
in this research included the ratio of zalacca fruit skin charcoal and zalacca stem
charcoal (100:0), (75:25), (50:50), (25:75), and (0:100) with a sago starch
adhesive 1,5 g. Observational data were analyzed statistically, using analysis of
variance (ANOVA) and continued with Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at
5% level. The results of the analysis showed that the ratio of zalacca fruit skin
and stem charcoal had a significant effect on water content, ash content, bonded
carbon content, volatile matter content and calorific value. The best treatment in
this research was KP4 (25:75) witch consisted of 12,12 g of zalacca fruit skin
charcoal and 36,37 g of zalacca stem charcoal with 1,5 g of sago starch adhesive.
The following result were water content 6.70%, ash content 7.67%, volatile matter
content 18.06%, fixed carbon content 67.57% and calorific value 5,367.60 cal/g.
