ABSTRACT
Price is one of the elements contained in a sale and purchase transaction, namely the existence of a clear price of the object being traded. Therefore the price of a product is one of the determinants of the amount of market demand. Thus price is always a measure of whether a person will make a purchase or not to fulfill his life needs. Where currently the price of basic necessities is soaring (rising) because basic needs are always experiencing price fluctuations. There are times when prices go up and down. This results in high and low consumer demand and supply for a particular item or in the production process. The increase in prices was also caused by factors that influenced the increase in the price of basic necessities (basic necessities), namely the scarcity of goods or limited availability. Because of the need for these basic commodities, traders take advantage of this by selling basic necessities, one of which is selling basic necessities. Even though the price of basic foodstuffs often experiences price volatility, they often even experience increases due to certain factors.
This study aims to determine the Supervision of Staple Food Prices Ahead of Celebrations of Certain Holidays in Pekanbaru City and the inhibiting factors of the inhibiting factors in Monitoring the Prices of Staple Foods Ahead of Celebrations of Certain Holidays in Pekanbaru City. The theoretical concept used by researchers is the steps of a good supervisory process according to Syafri (2004:15). The research method used is qualitative with data collection techniques by interview, observation and documentation. The result of this research is that government oversight should build a conducive environment to create a climate of fair business competition, no longer an era of price control. The biggest challenge will actually come from the readiness and ability of government officials, from the Central to the Regional levels, to enforce Presidential Regulation Number 71 of 2015, so that the credibility and authority of government policies will be better.
