Pengaruh Konsentrasi Pelarut Etanol Terhadap Aktivitas Antioksidan Anggur Laut (Ceulerpa Racemosa) Menggunakan Metode Frap (Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power)
ABSTRACT
Sea grapes (Caulerpa racemosa) are known to contain substances or compounds that have potential as antioxidants. This study aimed to determine the effect of different concentrations of ethanol solvent on antioxidant activity that were produced. The method used was an experimental method with a complete randomized design with different ethanol solvent concentration treatments (70%, 80%, and 90%). This study consisted of several stages, namely: sample preparation, sample extraction, qualitative and quantitative phytochemical compound test, and antioxidant activity test using FRAP (Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power). The parameters tested consisted of yield, qualitative and quantitative phytochemical compound analysis, and antioxidant activity analysis. The results showed that the yield obtained from ethanol extraction with concentrations of 70%, 80% and 90% were 1,32%, 1.61% and 2,96%, respectively. The best treatment in the phytochemical compound test was found in 90% ethanol concentration with active compounds including flavonoids, alkaloids, phenols and steroids/triterpenoids with total flavonoids and alkaloids level of 0.10% and 0.013%, respectively and antioxidant activity of Caulerpa racemosa with medium IC50 value of 126.07 ppm.
