Hubungan Total Padatan Tersuspensi (Tss) Dengan Klorofil-A Di Perairan Pesisir Dumai, Kecamatan Dumai Barat, Kota Dumai, Riau
Abstract Watershed activities in the Dumai River and land conversion in the Estuary of the Masjid River will affect the quality of Dumai coastal waters, one of which is an increase in suspended solids. TSS is solids in water, consisting of biotic components such as phytoplankton, zooplankton, bacteria, fungi, or abiotic components such as detritus, sand, silt, clay and inorganic particles with sizes ranging from 0,004-1,0 mm. A research aims to know the relationship between TSS and chlorophyll-a in the Dumai Coastal waters, which was carried out in January-February 2023 using a survey method. Sampling was carried out 3 times with an interval of 2 weeks. The TSS analysis method was carried out by gravimetry and chlorophyll-a by acetone extraction. Water quality parameters such as temperature, current speed, transparency, pH, salinity, DO, free CO2, nitrate, phosphate. The results shown, the average TSS ranged from 33,3 to 91 mg/L. The average chlorophyll-a ranges from 20,85 to 85,67 μg/L. Water quality parameter such as temperature: 28,2-28,5 oC, current speed: 0,44-1,09 m/s, transparency: 0,22-0,43 m, pH: 5,8-6,9, salinity: 13-25 ppt, DO: 5,17-7,78 mg/L, CO2: 5,28-12,54 mg/L, nitrate: 0,05-0,09 mg/L, phosphate: 0,13-0,28 mg/L. The relationship between TSS and chlorophyll-a, y = 93,048 - 0,6955x with the correlation r = 0,67, which means that the effect of TSS on chlorophyll-a is strong.
