Jenis Dan Kelimpahan Fitoplankton Di Perairan Sungai Mandau Kecamatan Sungai Mandau Kabupaten Siak
Abstract
Phytoplankton is a microscopic organisms floating in aquatic and act as primary producers in the food chain system. A research aims to determine types and abundance of phytoplankton in the Sungai Mandau Reservoir has been carried out on July - August 2022. Sampling taken at three stations, namely Station 1 (upstream), Station 2 (in the middle of stream) and Station 3 (downstream). Water quality parameters measured were: temperature, transparency, pH, current speed, DO, free CO2, nitrate and phosphate. Sampling were conducted three times, once/10 days. Result shown that there were 27 species of phytoplankton they were belonged to 4 classes, namely Bacillariophyceae (13 species), Chlorophyceae (9 species), Cyanophyceae (4 species), Dinophyceae (1 species). The abudance of phytoplankton ranges from 28.898 - 41.710 cells/L. The water quality parameters were as follows: transparency 31 - 34 cm, temperatures 29 - 30oC, pH 4 - 5, current speed 0,21 - 0,24 m/s, DO 2,49 - 3,1 mg/L, free CO2 18,81 - 20,17 mg/L, nitrate 0,016 - 0,029 mg/L, phosphate 0,05 - 0,07 mg/L. Based on of phytoplankton, Mandau river can be categorized as mesotrophic.
