Deteksi Protozoa Usus Oportunistik Pada Tinja Anak Panti Asuhan Pekanbaru Menggunakan Pulasan Tahan Asam
ABSTRACT
Opportunistic intestinal protozoa are protozoa that infect humans when the body's defense system decreases (immunocompromise). Opportunistic intestinal protozoan infections were found in immunocompromised patients and have been reported to infect children. Cryptosporidium sp, Cyclospora sp, Cystoisospora belli, and Blastocystis hominis have been identified to cause infection. This research is a descriptive study with a cross-sectional design conducted from October 2022 to August 2023 on children in 11 orphanages Pekanbaru City. This study used acid-fast staining. The results showed that 46.3% of orphans were infected with opportunistic intestinal protozoa, consisting of Cryptosporidium sp in (42.1%) child, Cyclospora sp infection in (1.1%) child, Blastocystis hominis infection in (1.1%) child, mixed infection of Cryptosporidium sp and Cyclospora sp in (1.1%) child, mixed infection of Cryptosporidium sp and Blastocystis hominis in (1.1%) child, and no infection by Cystoisospora belli was found in all samples.
