Komunikasi Pembangunan Pada Kelompok Tani Hutan Di Kecamatan Bantan Kabupaten Bengkalis
SUMMARY
Forest farmer groups exist as an innovation through the conservation of biological natural resources with the aim of empowering the community. The presence of forest farmer groups and the active role of change agents in implementing programs to the community as a development effort can change the order of people's lives for the better through social change. The aim of this research is to analyze innovation, communication channels, time period, social system and development communication patterns in forest farmer groups in Bantan District, Bengkalis Regency.
This research uses the theory of diffusion of innovation by Everret M. Roger. This research used a qualitative descriptive approach, using purposive techniques with 11 informants. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation.
The research results show that innovation from forest farmer groups can improve the order of life in society for the better, with the characteristics of innovation, introduction of new technology, coordinated administration in government, 3P (counseling, training and mentoring), marketing assistance, monitoring and evaluation. The forest farmer group program innovation has empowered the community in terms of quality and quantity. Forest farmer groups provide new ways of forest farming, improve the community's economy, instill the value of community care in protecting and preserving forests. Forest farmer groups are diffused through interpersonal communication channels and social media Instagram and WhatsApp. The period of innovation diffusion starts from 2013 until now. The social systems that play a role and are involved are the initiators, non-governmental organizations, village, district, provincial governments and especially farmers who consist of early adopters, early majority and late majority. The communication pattern for empowering forest farmer groups uses a participatory communication model. Starting from the planning, coaching, training and evaluation process, forest farmer group cadres were included. The importance of effective communication between innovation adopters and change agents has a major influence on the success and sustainability of forest farmer groups.
