ABSTRACT

Fishermen groups are a forum for fishermen to improve their knowledge, attitudes, and skills for the better. Group organizing is usually done by the head of the fishing group who is in charge of organizing the group. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the leadership of the head of the fishermen group and the level of effectiveness of the fishermen group. The circumstances and profiles of fishermen groups in Bangko sub-district are the types of information collected. This study uses the Spearman Rank formula to show the closeness of the relationship between the two variables processed using a computer program that uses SPSS software version 22. The results showed a very strong correlation between the leadership of the head of the fishermen group and the effectiveness of the fishermen group, with a correlation coefficient value of 0.760**. The fishermen group numbered 12 active groups, each group showed a correlation between the two variables, namely the correlation coefficient value of 0.766** for the strength of expertise with the effectiveness of the fishermen group then the correlation coefficient value of 0.803** for reference strength, the correlation coefficient value of 0.508** for aspiration carriers and the correlation coefficient value of 0.147* for physical endurance.
