Identifikasi Senyawa Bioaktif Dan Aktivitas Antioksidan Pada Tulang Sotong (Sepia recurvirostra) Diekstraksi Dengan Pelarut Berbeda
ABSTRACT
Cuttlefish (Sepia recurvirostra) belongs to the cephalopod class which has its back bones located inside the body or mantle. Cuttlefish bones contain bioactive compounds that have the potential to act as antioxidants. This study aims to determine the proximate value of cuttlefish bone meal, determine the content of bioactive compounds and antioxidant activity in cuttlefish bone extract extracted with three different solvents, namely n-hexane, ethyl acetate and methanol. The research method used was experimental by conducting direct experiments on bioactive compounds and antioxidant activity from cuttlefish bones extracted with three different polarity levels and analyzed descriptively. The parameters analyzed were the yield of cuttlefish bone meal, proximate analysis (water, ash and protein content), qualitative bioactive compounds and antioxidant activity using the DPPH method. The results of the research showed that the yield of cuttlefish bone flour produced was 90.47%. Proximate analysis of water, ash and protein content were 3.18%, 87.34% and 3.52% respectively. The content of alkaloid bioactive compounds is found in the n-hexane and ethyl acetate extracts as well as phenolic alkaloids and saponins in the methanol extract. The IC50 value of antioxidant activity was 665.47 ppm in the n-hexane extract, 573.67 ppm in the ethyl acetate extract and 308.06 ppm in the methanol extract. Based on the results obtained, it shows that cuttlefish bone extract with methanol solvent is the most optimal extract in obtaining bioactive compounds and antioxidants.
