Electrical Engineering is one of the departments at the University of Riau. During the registration and implementation of internships and thesis work, students are required to obtain approval signatures from various parties, including the supervising lecturer, study program administration, internship and thesis coordinators, as well as the study program coordinator. Each approval signature takes several days, and in some cases, weeks, as students need to arrange meetings and communicate separately with each involved individual. This results in a significant efficiency problem in the internship and thesis registration process. To address this issue, an information system was developed for the internship and thesis registration process in the Electrical Engineering department of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Riau. The system was built using the Laravel framework, and the Waterfall method was employed in its development. The results were tested using the ISO 25010 standard for functional suitability, compatibility, portability, and usability aspects, employing the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) for usability, Apache JMeter for reliability, Qualys for security, and Google PageSpeed for performance. The functional suitability test yielded a 100% success rate, meeting the expected results. Compatibility testing with 7 different browsers and versions showed no indicators of issues, indicating the system can run smoothly on various browsers. Portability testing indicated that the product could run on 5 different computers with varying specifications in the Electrical Engineering department. Usability testing using UEQ resulted in high scores across categories, categorizing the system as excellent: attractiveness 2.150, clarity 2.172, efficiency 2.181, precision 2.096, stimulation 2.062, and novelty 1.812. Reliability testing involved two scenarios, and no errors were found in any of the tested scenarios, indicating good reliability. Security testing received an A+ grade, signifying good security. Performance testing showed the system's performance at 94%, indicating good performance. Maintainability testing received an A rating with only 4 code smells, indicating that the system can be easily maintained.
