Perancangan Flex Sensor Glove Untuk Pasien Penyakit Berat Berbasis Mikrokontroler
The utilization of medical electronic devices has undergone extensive development in the present era, encompassing various facets such as product design, prototyping, and device control systems. Device engineering has emerged as a critical element across diverse dimensions of human life, spanning the domains of device engineering and healthcare. Effective communication assumes a profound role in this context. For this reason, this research proposes the development of a communication-assistive device. The effectiveness of communication among healthcare practitioners, patients, and the patients' families significantly impacts the quality of care and treatment outcomes. In every hospital, there exists a device designed for the purpose of summoning a nurse when a button on the device is activated. However, this device has inherent limitations, as it solely facilitates the summoning function without the capacity to address other needs. Considering this issue, this study introduces a communication aid device in the form of a glove, engineered to translate finger movements into distinct requests through the utilization of a flex sensor as its primary sensor. The data originating from the flex sensor's bending is subsequently processed via an Arduino Nano and transmitted to the Blynk application through an internet connection. Consequently, when a finger equipped with a flex sensor is bent, the device autonomously dispatches a notification in the form of a request through the Blynk application. Furthermore, the device is equipped with a temperature sensor to monitor body temperature and a pulse oximeter sensor capable of ascertaining the user's heart rate through the glove.
