Pengembangan Bahan Ajar Materi Statistika Dengan Pendekatan Contextual Teaching And Learning (CTL) Untuk Memfasilitasi Kemampuan Koneksi Matematis Siswa Kelas VIII SMP Fase D
Abstract
This research aims to develop instructional materials for teaching statistics using a contextual teaching and learning strategy. The goal is to enhance the mathematical connection abilities of eighth-grade junior high school students. The materials are designed to meet the criteria of validity and practicality. The present study involves the development of a 4-D model, encompassing the stages of Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. In order to assess the credibility of teaching materials, a process of validation was conducted with the participation of three experts. Additionally, data pertaining to the feasibility of the teaching materials were acquired through testing conducted on eighth-grade students in a junior high school. The present study examines the validation outcomes of teaching materials, which were categorised as highly valid with an average validity score of 93.92%. Based on the findings of the readability assessment conducted among eighth-grade junior high school students, it was determined that the average score for the "easy to understand" category was 86.97%. Additionally, the practicality test yielded an average score of 82.96% in the "very practical" area. The findings suggest that the utilisation of a contextual teaching and learning strategy in statistics education materials is highly effective, as it enhances students' mathematical comprehension and fosters practical application. This technique proves to be legitimate, easily comprehensible, and particularly beneficial for promoting the development of mathematical connections among eighth-grade junior high school students.
