Korelasi Penguasaan Diksi Dengan Kemampuan Menulis Puisi Siswa Kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Sentajo Raya
Abstract:
This research aims to describe the correlation between mastery of diction and the ability to write poetry in class VIII students at SMPN 1 Sentajo Raya. This type of research is quantitative correlational. The sample for this research consisted of 49 students. The instrument used is a test. The data analysis technique uses prerequisite tests, namely the normality test and homogeneity test, then tested using hypothesis tests, namely the correlation test, determination test (R Square) and anova test (f test). The results of data analysis were obtained from objective tests, the average score for diction mastery was 65.06 and the performance test results, the average score for ability to write poetry was 66.92. The results of the Pearson correlation hypothesis test above obtained a sig value of 0.000 < 0.05 with an rcount of 0.553 > 0.2816, meaning that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. This means that mastery of diction has an influence on the ability to write poetry by up to 55.3% and a value of 0.553 means the correlation is relatively strong.
