Struktur Komunitas Makrozoobentos Sebagai Bioindikator Kualitas Perairan Ekosistem Mangrove Desa Mengkapan Kabupaten Siak Untuk Rancangan Poster Pada Pembelajaran Biologi SMA
ABSTRACT
Environmental changes and human activities are one of the causes of water pollution in various waters, including coastal waters, one of which is the mangrove ecosystem. Environmental changes and pollution affect the existence of biota in the ecosystem, one of which is macrozoobenthos. This research aims to determine the water quality of the Mangrove Ecosystem in Mengkapan Village, Siak Regency based on the macrozoobenthos community as a poster design for high school biology learning on learning outcomes in phase E of environmental change for class X high school even semester.
This research is a type of quantitative descriptive research carried out in May-June 2023 which consists of two stages, namely, stage I field research sampling macrozoobenthic samples in the mangrove ecosystem of Mengkapan Village and stage II designing learning posters. Data collection in the field used survey methods and a 120 m belt transect. Macrozoobenthos sampling was carried out by purposive sampling at 3 stations (Tanjung Buton, Natural Mangrove, and Mangrove Ecotourism) where each station had 3 transects with each transect having 6 plots measuring 20 x 20 m2 then within the plot 3 subplots measuring 2 x 2 m2 as macrozoobenthos sampling point. The design of learning posters based on research results was designed using the ADDIE model but only used the analysis and design stages.
The parameters in this research are divided into main parameters and supporting parameters. The main parameters include species composition, density, diversity, evenness and dominance. Supporting parameters consist of temperature, pH, salinity, dissolved oxygen (DO), substrate type, and substrate organic content. The tools and materials used in this research include meters, plastic ropes, shovels, multi-level filters, plastic samples, label paper, stationery, dropper pipettes, ice boxes, lugs, DO meters, digital water testers, thermometers, cameras, analytical scales, porcelain cup, oven, furnace, distilled water and 10% formalin.
The results of this research show that the number of macrozoobenthos species found in the mangrove ecosystem of Mengkapan Village, Siak Regency is 14 species. The composition of macrozoobenthos consists of three classes, namely Gastropods (10 species), Bivalves (2 species), and Crustacea (2 species). The diversity index value in the research area is 1.74-2.20. Based on the species composition and calculation of the macrozoobenthos diversity index, the waters of the Mengkapan Village mengrove ecosystem are classified as lightly polluted to moderately polluted. A high evenness index and low dominance index indicate that the ecosystem is in a stable state. The values of the physico-chemical environmental parameters of the waters are still within the quality standard threshold so that they are able to support macrozoobenthic life. The results of research on macrozoobenthos community structure as a bioindicator of water quality in the mangrove ecosystem in Mengkapan Village, Siak Regency can be used as a poster design for high school biology learning based on the criteria of suitability to the curriculum, suitability to learning materials, suitability to learning objectives, and suitability to students' level of thinking
