Pengaruh Konsentrasi Kompos Gajah Terhadap Pertumbuhan Bibit Pometia Pinnata Pada Tanah Mineral Asam

Pometia pinnata is a plant that is used as the identity of West Papua. Pometia pinnata can be utilized by the community for various purposes such as building materials, handicrafts, medicines, ornamental plants and pometia pinnata can also be developed into one of the plants in Forest and Land Rehabilitation activities. Pometia pinnata nurseries often have problems, one of the factors is the growing medium for plants such as acidic mineral soil. This soil has various problems in physical, biological, and chemical properties. To overcome these problems, the addition of elephant dung compost is done. This compost has a high content or nutrients so it is very suitable to supply plant growth. This study aims to determine the effect of elephant manure compost concentration on the growth of Pometia pinnata seedlings in acidic mineral soil and to determine the best concentration of elephant manure compost on the growth of Pometia pinnata seedlings in acidic mineral soil. This research used the complete randomized design (CRD) method. The parameters measured were percent survival, seedling height gain, diameter gain, sturdiness value, seedling dry weight and top root ratio. The results showed that the composition of 30% elephant dung compost + 70% acid mineral soil was the best media composition for Pometia pinnata seedling growth with 100% survival rate, 5.69 cm seedling height gain, 1.34 mm seedling diameter gain, 5.30 seedling sturdiness value, 2.89 g seedling dry weight, and 3.16 top root ratio.
