Identifikasi Potensi Jasa Lingkungan Hutan Lindung Sibisa-Motung Kabupaten Toba Sumatera Utara
Environmental services are defined as services provided by natural or artificial ecosystem functions whose value and benefits can be directly or indirectly perceived by stakeholders in realizing sustainable ecosystem management. Protected forest areas have a primary function as a protection of life support systems to regulate water systems, prevent floods, control erosion, prevent saltwater intrusion, and maintain soil fertility. This study aims to determine the use of the protected forest area in Sibisa-Motung and to identify the potential environmental services in the protected forest in Sibisa-Motung, Toba Regency, North Sumatra. The research was conducted in the KPHL Unit XIV Toba Samosir in the Village of Motung, Ajibata District, Toba Regency, North Sumatra in April 2023 for one month. The tools used in this study were GPS, ArcGIS software, writing tools, and a digital camera. The materials used in this study were the map of the working area of KPHL Unit XIV Toba Samosir in the Village of Motung, Ajibata District, Toba Regency, North Sumatra. Data collection techniques in this study included interviews and field observations. The collected data consisted of primary and secondary data. The use of the protected forest area in Sibisa-Motung consists of 4 types: non-member area managed by KPHL Unit XIV Toba, IUPHKm work area managed by the community affiliated with GAPOKTAN HKm PERSAMOT, the Modern Toba Nursery area managed by BPDASHL Asahan Barumun, and other usage areas utilized by the Lake Toba Authority Management Agency. The potential environmental services in the protected forest in Sibisa-Motung, Toba Regency, North Sumatra, revealed 3 potentials: the beauty of the natural landscape, biodiversity potential, and water resource potential.
