Analisis Kinerja Fiber Bragg Grating Dalam Mengatasi Dispersion Power Fading Pada Sistem Wavelength Division Multiplexing Radio Over Fiber Dengan Input Sinyal Radio Frequency Yang Dimodulasi Qam

Radio over Fiber (RoF) is a system where Radio Frequency (RF) signals are transmitted through optical fibers used to support wireless communication services. Fiber characteristics that affect optical signal propagation include fiber attenuation and fiber dispersion. Fiber attenuation is constant, the lowest value of attenuation is 0.2 dB/Km, while the dispersion is not constant. This is because the refractive index of the fiber changes with the change in the angular frequency of the propagating optical wave. To reduce the dispersion problem that occurs, an additional component is needed, namely Fiber Bragg Gratting (FBG). This research is simulated at a distance of 0-5 KM using a bitrate of 2.5 Gbps with digital modulation types 4-QAM, 16-QAM, and 64-QAM at a frequency of 60 GHz. The result of this research shows that 16-QAM and 64-QAM digital modulation types are not supported for RoF system at 60 GHz frequency. Simulation results show that in RoF and RoF Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) systems with 4-QAM modulated RF signal input, Dispersion Power Fading (DPF) occurs, which is indicated by a very large power decrease in the RF signal received repeatedly at fiber lengths of 1 and 3.1 KM and has a Deviation Factor (DF) value> 1. The addition of FBG components to the RoF and RoF WDM systems with 4-QAM modulated RF signal input can overcome DPF which is indicated by no power fluctuations at distances of 1 and 3.1 KM and DF values < 1, but there is still a shift in Phase constellation so that phase improvement is needed. The addition of FBG and phase constellation improvement in RoF and RoF WDM systems can improve system performance so that it is always above the minimum standard value indicated by the increasing Q Factor value.
