Desain Algoritma Sistem Load Shedding Pertamina RU II Dumai
This research aims to evaluate the performance of the Load Shedding system at Pertamina RU II Dumai using simulation methods with Simulink Matlab software. In the testing phase, four main cases were explored, each divided into four scenarios covering all possible generator operation scenarios. The test results indicate that in Case 1, Load Shedding is not required as the power loss can be handled by the remaining generators, with a maximum frequency drop of only 49.77Hz, still adhering to the PRC-006-5 standard. In Case 2, Load Shedding Step 1 is implemented, releasing a load of 5.3MW due to the frequency drop exceeding the limits of Load Shedding Step 1 and its pickup time. The frequency successfully recovers, remaining compliant with the PRC-006-5 standard. In Case 3, load shedding occurs in three consecutive steps, with a total load release of 16.71MW. The frequency drop surpasses the limits in each step, but the frequency successfully returns to normal, still complying with the PRC-006-5 standard. However, in Case 4, in all scenarios, the Load Shedding system fails to maintain power balance, leading to a system blackout. The findings of this research provide crucial insights into the reliability and effectiveness of the Load Shedding system at Pertamina RU II Dumai, with recommendations to enhance Load Shedding capabilities in extreme situations.
