Jenis dan Kelimpahan Fitoplankton Pada Danau Diatas, Nagari Alahan Panjang, Kabupaten Solok, Provinsi Sumatera Barat
The Diatas Lake is a shallow tectonic lake. In that lake, there were floating net cage aquaculture activities that produce organic pollutant and affect the water quality in general. Changing in water quality will affects the types and abundance of phytoplankton as well as the fertility of the lake. To understand the type, abundance of phytoplankton and the fertility status of the lake, a study was conducted from March to April 2023. Plankton and water quality samplings were conducted once a week, 3 times, in 3 stations. Results indicate that there were 31 types of phytoplankton found and they were belonged to 8 classes, namely Bacillariophyceae (9 spesies), Coscinodiscophyceae (3 spesies), Cyanophyceae (10 spesies), dinophyceae (3 spesies), Euglenophyceae (1 spesies), Mediophyceae (1 spesies) and Zynematophyceae (2 spesies). Phytoplankton abundance in each station was different, there was 41.056 cells/L in Station 1, 26.187 cells/L in Station 2, and 68.203 cells/L in Station 3. The average of water quality parameters measured from the stations were as follows: temperature 22.4oC, brightness 286 cm, dissolved oxygen 5.27 mg/L, free carbon dioxide 5.99 ppm, nitrate 0.269 mg/L, and orthophosphate 0.048 mg/L. Based on data obtained, it can be concluded that the water quality of the lake was good and data on phytoplankton abundance, the fertility of the Diatas Lake could be classified as medium (Mesotrophic).
