Education is an important sector in developing human life and also in increasing the progress of a country. The existence of education can lead people to become wise people in finding solutions to every problem that occurs in their lives. Therefore, education is the most powerful weapon in changing the world. Education is said to be successful if it meets national education goals, then education is also said to be successful if the teaching and learning process is carried out effectively and efficiently so that learning outcomes can be achieved optimally. To obtain optimal learning results, it is necessary to pay attention to factors that support a student's learning process, such as study habits.
Good study habits will be able to help students master their lessons to achieve study progress, and ultimately success in school. This means that if a child has good study habits then his learning results will also be good, but if his study habits are bad then his learning results will be bad too. Now we are in an era (Era), which is called the Era of Disruption. Therefore, children's learning habits have quite serious challenges. If this is not paid attention to, it will have an impact on the child's academic achievement.
Based on the results of observations at SMA Negeri 14 Pekanbaru, it was still found that students' study habits were not good. The findings can be seen, Firstly, 60.43% of students were found not to be creative in answering questions from assignments/tests, the implementation of group discussion learning did not go as expected. Second, 53.29% of students are lazy, many complain when they enter class time, students often rely on friends to cheat on tests or exams. Third, 72.52% of students are often sleepy in class. Due to the progress of the times (from generation to generation), of course learning habits in the Era of Disruption are different, so that it becomes a renewal which will be discussed in this research. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research with the aim of analyzing the factors that influence students' learning habits in the Era of Disruption.
The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 14 Pekanbaru. Data was collected by questionnaire. The research population was students majoring in Social Sciences at SMAN 14 Pekanbaru City. Meanwhile, the sample consisted of 182 students taken using random sampling. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) Partial Least Square (PLS) data analysis technique.
Based on the research results, it shows that; 1) parental attention influences students' study habits. This means that parental attention is one of the factors that can influence students' study habits; 2) parental attention influences students' interest in learning. This means that the attention given by parents can foster interest in learning in children, because psychologically children really need attention from both parents as a supporting force and a driving force for children; 3) parental attention influences students' learning motivation. This means that the attention given by parents can foster learning motivation in children, just like interest, a child really needs attention from both parents to foster learning motivation as a supporting and driving force for children to learn; 4) parental attention influences study habits through interest in learning. If parental attention is good, then interest in learning will be good and if both are good, it will also have a good impact on the pattern of good study habits, and vice versa; 5) parental attention influences study habits through study motivation. This means that learning motivation is able to mediate the influence of parental attention on children's learning habits.
Overall, it can be concluded that the factors that influence students' study habits are parental attention, interest in learning, and motivation to learn. Therefore, children as students must receive sufficient and directed attention from their parents. Attention can give rise to many positive emotional responses, including the emergence of interest and motivation to learn in children and can also form better patterns of learning habits in children in the Era of Disruption. Rooted in this, it will also have an impact on achieving good learning outcomes for children at school.
