Inventarisasi Jenis Ikan di Oxbow Teluk Benderas, Desa Rantau Baru, Kecamatan Pangkalan Kerinci, Kabupaten Pelalawan, Provinsi Riau

Teluk Benderas Lake is an oxbow lake formed due to the interruption of the flow of the Kampar River. This lake is a habitat for various types of fish. However, information on fish species in the area is still limited. To find out the types of fish in Teluk Benderas Lake, a study was conducted in March-May 2023 using the survey method. Fish sampling was conducted once a week for a period of 2 months. The fish were caught using a trawl (circle net) measuring 150 m long, 4.5 m wide with 1 inch meshzise. Water quality parameters measured were temperature, brightness, depth, pH, DO and CO2. The number of fish caught was then identified and described based on Saanin (1984) and Kottelat et al., (1993). The results showed that the fish caught amounted to 1.398 fish consisting of 4 orders, 13 families, 25 genera and 32 species. Based on the results of water quality measurements, it can be concluded that Benderas Bay Lake can still support fish life in the waters.
