Penambahan Asam Lemak EPA dan DHA pada Pakan untuk Pertumbuhan dan Kelangsungan Hidup Ikan Lele Ekor Merah (Hemibagrus nemurus)
Asian redtail catfish (Hemibagrus nemurus) is Riau Province's mainstay freshwater fish commodity that has high commercial value. Asian redtail catfish fish has good protein content and quality and low fat content. The problem in asian redtail catfish fish cultivation is feed nutrition that has not been maximally fulfilled, resulting in low growth and survival. The nutritional content of asian redtail catfish fish feed that does not meet the needs such as fat content and essential fatty acids. One of the efforts to increase the fat content of bream is the addition of EPA and DHA fatty acids to the feed. This research was conducted at Fish Nutrition Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine, University of Riau from June to August 2022. This study aims to determine the addition of EPA and DHA to feed on the growth and survival of asian redtail catfish (Hemibagrus nemurus). This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments and three replications, so that there are 12 experimental units. The fish used had a length of 19.77 ± 2.5 cm and an average weight of 54.80 ± 12.72 g. The fish kept on round pool as many as 12 pieces with diameter is 80 cm, 60 cm of high, 400 liters of volume and 15 fish/container of density. The test feed used in this study was commercial feed with protein content of 30%. The treatment in this study was the addition of EPA and DHA to feed with the amount of P0(0), P1(5), P2(10), P3(15) g/kg. The test feed was given as much as 3% of the weight of the biomass, frequency of feeding 4 times a day for 60 days. The results of this study indicated the best treatment was P2, using 10g/kg of EPA and DHA which resulted in feed efficiency 46.62%, Specific Growth Rate 1.78%, survival rate 88.89%, protein retention 22.86 %, and fat retention 10.57%.
