Kemampuan Menulis Teks Deskripsi Siswa Kelas VIII SMP Negeri 7 Tualang

This research describes and analyzes the ability of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 7 Tualang in writing descriptive texts. This research is quantitative research because the data presented in this research is in the form of numbers. The data analysis technique in this research uses descriptive statistical techniques. The research instrument used in this research is a descriptive text writing test based on the type of person description. In the test instrument used, the researcher provides one theme, namely father, which will be written about. Students are asked to create descriptive texts by paying attention to the existing assessment aspects, namely the suitability of the title, content/ideas and diction. The problem formulation in this research is what is the level of ability to write descriptive text of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 7 Tualang? Based on the research results, the ability to write descriptive text for class VIII students at SMP Negeri 7 Tualang is classified as moderate. This was discovered after testing using a one-sample t test with an average of 74.68.
