Profil Kasus Apendisitis Anak Dan Hubungannya Dengan Golongan Darah Abo Di Rsud Arifin Achmad Periode Januari 2020-Desember 2022
Appendicitis is inflammation of the vermiform appendix that may lead to an abscess, ileus, peritonitis, or death if untreated. Abdominal pain is one of the most common chief complaints of children seen in the emergency department, and appendicitis represents the most common abdominal surgical emergency in the pediatric population. The aim of this study was to determine the association between ABO blood type and the incidence of appendicitis in the pediatric surgical ward of Arifin Achmad Hospital January 2020-December 2022. This study was conducted with a cross-sectional descriptive analytics design. The sample for this study was all medical record of children diagnosed with appendicitis using the total sampling method. The result show that out of 47 appendicitis patients, the median patient age is 13 years, with the youngest age being 2 years and the oldest being 18 years. Most majority were girls (27 children) compared to boys (20 children). The distribution based on blood group is blood group O (48,9%), blood group A (21,3%), blood group B (19,1%), and blood group AB (10,6%). The distribution based on appendicitis type is simple (51,1%) and complicated (48,9%). The conclusion of this study that there is no association between ABO blood type (p=0,173) and the incidence of appendicitis in the pediatric patients.
