Peran Istri Nelayan Dalam Meningkatkan Pendapatan Rumah Tangga Di Desa Pekan Tanjung Beringin Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai Provinsi Sumatera Utara

This research was conducted in May 2023 in Pekan Tanjung Beringin Village, Serdang Bedagai Regency, North Sumatra. This study was aimed to analyze the domestic role and public role of fishermen's wives in increasing household income and to find out the factors that encourage fishermen's wives to work in fishing families in Pekan Tanjung Beringin Village. The research method used is a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Determination of informants based on purposive sampling as many as 6 informants. Data collection was carried out by means of observation, interviews and documentation. Furthermore, the data obtained were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the role of fishermen's wives had a major effect on household income. Fishermen's wives earn income working as fish processing workers, washing workers, shelling workers, cake sellers, and opening stalls.
