Potensi Dan Tingkat Pemanfaatan Ikan Layang (Decapterus Ruselli) Yang Didaratkan Di Pelabuhan Perikanan Nusantara Sibolga, Provinsi Sumatera Utara
Indian Scad Fish (Decapterus russeli) is one of the dominant small pelagic fish resources landed at the Sibolga Fishing Port. The production of Indian Scad landed in PPN Sibolga has fluctuated over the past five years. This study aims to determine the estimation of the sustainable potential of Indian scad (MSY), total allowable catches (TAC), the level of utilization, and the level of effort landed at the Sibolga Nusantara Fishing Port in North Sumatra within 5 years (2018-2022). This research was conducted in August 2023, using the survey method. The types of data collected are primary data and secondary data. Primary data were obtained from interviews with fishermen, while secondary data were obtained from daily production data and fishing trip data (logbook). Data analysis used includes CPUE, sustainable potential, and optimum effort, total allowable catch (TAC), utilization rate, and effort. From the research results, the maximum sustainable yield (MSY) is 5,490.389 tons/year and the optimum effort is 1,385 trips/year for a total allowable catch of 4,392.312 tonnes/year or 80% of the maximum catch. The average percentage of utilization and effort levels of Indian Scad over the last 5 years is 96% and 84%, meaning that these values are in the fully exploited range but have not yet reached overfishing.
