Helostoma temminckii is a type of fish commonly present in the Teluk Banderas Lake, an oxbow lake that is located along the Kampar River. H. temminckii is known as tuakang fish and it is one of favorite consumed fish in Riau Province. Noweday, the population that fish was decreasing, while its biological aspects information was rare. To understand the reproductive biology of the fish, this study was carried out in July-September 2023. The fish was captured using fish net with 1 inch mesh size, 3 times, once/ month. The sampled fishes were then measured, weighed and its reproductive aspects were investigated. During the study the maturity level of the fish ranged from 1st to 4th and the 4th maturity level fish started to appear in August. This fact indicated that the spawning season of the fish may be started in that month and will continue in the following months. The average GSI of male was 1.55%, 2.43%, 3.68% and 4.47% in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th GML respectively. While those of the female were 3.02%, 4.99%, 8.15% and 11.51% respectively. The fecundity of the fish ranged from 20,967-40,091 eggs/ fish, while the egg diameter was varied, from 0.75 to 1.05 mm
