This research aims to describe the imagery and message in the rhyme of opening the door latch in the marriage customs of the Malay community in Mempura District. This type of research is qualitative research with descriptive methods. The data in this research is in the form of direct speech from speakers in the form of words, phrases and sentences which are included in the pantun of the tradition of opening the door, then the data from this research comes from people who are usually appointed as speakers in this tradition, in the situations and conditions of the tradition of opening the door. this door is implemented. The data collection technique in this research uses recording and note-taking techniques. The data obtained was analyzed using qualitative descriptive methods with data reduction techniques, data presentation and conclusions. With the research results, it was found that six images emerged from a total of seven images described. Then there are 4 sampirans that do not have a mandate, 42 sampirans that have a mandate and stand alone, and 17 sampirans that have a mandate and are also related to the content.
