Peningkatan Cakupan Sinyal Wi-Fi Dengan Perancangan Penempatan Access Point Menggunakan Metode Probabilitas Bayesian Di Laboraturium Teknik Elektro Universitas Riau
When installing a Wi-Fi network, the position of the Access point is a big influence on the quality of the Wi-Fi signal. So, when installing network equipment, proper access point placement is required. The Electrical Engineering Laboratory at Riau University is one of the locations that utilizes the Wi-Fi network for academic activities in the Electrical Engineering department. However, the placement of Access point positions in the Riau University Electrical Engineering Laboratory did not go through a thorough planning stage for Access point placement and there was a buildup of Access points so that the Wi-Fi signal coverage in the Riau University Electrical Engineering Laboratory was not optimal. To solve this problem, this research uses the Bayesian probability method to overcome data uncertainty and requires prior knowledge to make a decision. The aim of this research is to increase Wi-Fi signal coverage in the Electrical Engineering Laboratory at Riau University. The results of previous research have a W-Fi signal coverage area of 2,031.04 M2, if the percentage is 53% of the area of the Electrical Engineering Laboratory. After conducting research, the area of Wi-Fi signal coverage increased to 3,308.8 M2.
