This research was carried out in February 2023 at the Samudera Kutaraja Fishing Port, Banda Aceh City, Aceh Province. The aim of this research is to determine the landing activity of purse seine catches at the Kutaraja Ocean Fishing Port by paying attention to the landing activity process starting from the ship mooring at the pier to completing the unloading permit from the hatch to the ship's deck and knowing the actual conditions regarding the type, volume and volume of the product. catches in landing activities from purse seine catches at Kutaraja Samudera Fishery Port. The method used in this research is a survey method by collecting primary data and secondary data. Primary data was obtained from interviews with purse seine fishermen, PPS and fish traders. Secondary data was obtained from related agencies, including PPS Kutaraja and the Banda Aceh City Central Statistics Agency. The research results show that landing the catch at PPS Kutaraja, Banda Aceh, is an activity carri ed out in the time range 04.00 - 10.00 WIB. In the lean season, there are around 20 - 40 landings per day with a fish volume of around 500 - 1000 kg per day. Meanwhile, during peak season, the number of landings increases to around 1 - 8 tonnes per day with fish volume reaching 1.5 - 2 tonnes per day. The landing process is carried out by 2 - 3 fishermen, using bamboo baskets. Transporting the catch from the hold to the ship's deck involves 3 - 5 fishermen, while the lifting process from the ship's deck to the dock involves 6 - 9 fishermen. Landing facilities such as harbor pools and docks are not available at most Kutaraja PPS and the process of handling catches also does not pay attention to hygiene aspects, as can be seen from the condition of dirty ba rrels and baskets. The use of ice to maintain the quality of the catch is also still inadequate.
Pelagic fish species caught at the Kutaraja PPS include Layang, Selar, Siro, and Tongkol, with Cakalang as the dominant species which makes a significant contribution to production and production value.
