Uji Aktivitas Antimikroba Jamur Endofit Mangga Macang (Mangifera Foetida Lour.) Terhadap Mikroba Penyebab Penyakit Kulit
ABSTRACT
The increase in cases of skin diseasses that continue to increase and treates using antibiotics will cause microbes to become resistant. One of the efforts that can be done by searching for secondary metabolite compounds contained in the endophytic fungus mango macang (Mangifera foetida Lour.). the content of secondary metabolites in mango macang endophytic fungi such as flavonoids, tannins, phenols, saponins, alkaloids and steroids that have potential as antimicrobials. This study aims to test the antimicrobial activity of isoolates and crude extracts of endophytic fungi against microbes that cause skin diseases. Testing of endophytic fungal isolates was carried out by agar disk method and agar extracts by Kirby-Bauer method. The highest antimicrobial activity test results were obtained by isolate JD 1 against Propionibacterium acnes and Candida albicans with inhibition zone diameters of 12.12 mm and 14.35 mm, while isolate JK 1 showed the highest antimicrobial activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus epidermidis with inhibition zone diameters of 12.74 mm and 14.93 mm. Two endophytic fungal isolates with the largest inhibition zone were continued with the crude extract. The highest antimicrobial activity test results using crude extracts were obtained by isolate JD 1 against P. acnes and C. albicans with inhibition zone diameters of 14.08 mm and 7.81 mm, while isolate JK 1 showed the highest antimicrobial activity against P. aeruginosa and S. epidermidis with inhibition zone diameters of 12.74 and 24.50 mm.
Key findings: Antimicrobial activity, endophytic fungi, Mangifera foetida, crude extract, secondary metabolites.
